The degradation of the biome directly impacts the provision of essential ecosystem services for human life, such as water supply, climate regulation, well-being and health, nutrient maintenance in the soil, and reduction of extreme weather events, for example.<br><br>In an attempt to reverse this scenario, the Project<strong> &#8220;Atlantic Forest, from slopes to flooded areas: ecological restoration in RPPNs in the Lagamar Mosaic&#8221;<\/strong> continues ecological restoration and conservation in the Great Atlantic Forest Reserve region &#8211; the largest continuous area of the biome. The project&#8217;s activities include planting native species seedlings, controlling invasive exotic species, developing Agroforestry System (SAFs) techniques, training, communication, and raising Project in 2022, the following results have been achieved:<\/p><ul><li>The recovery of 886.3 hectares of Atlantic Forest that are under restoration in the Natural Reserves, through the planting of a wide variety of characteristic Atlantic Forest species;<\/li><li>The planting of 240,000 native tree seedlings using three different restoration techniques: planting a wide variety of characteristic Atlantic Forest species, enrichment planting to control exotic species in flooded areas, and nucleation to control exotics in flooded areas;<\/li><li>The installation of 2,000 native tree seedlings and the creation of beekeeping (meliponiculture) to diversify agricultural production and generate income for local residents;<\/li><li>The implementation of agroforestry system (SAF) techniques, training local residents to diversify agricultural production and generate income;<\/li><li>The organization of four workshops to integrate stakeholders in the restoration chain;<\/li><li>The launch of a collection of five educational booklets on SAFs for free access and download.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div
