This territory, located between the states of S\u00e3o Paulo, Paran\u00e1, and Santa Catarina, still retains almost all its diversity of environments and species of fauna and flora, as well as its cultural and historical richness. It is precisely this richness that makes <strong>the Great Atlantic Forest Reserve<\/strong> a unique opportunity for development based on the concept of Nature Production.<\/p><p>In the last five years, the territory of the <strong>Great Reserve has become the main area of activity for SPVS<\/strong>. The concept becomes effective when natural areas (whether publicly, privately, or communally owned), with their native species, act as spectacles that stimulate nature tourism activity. This activity becomes capable of establishing a new economy, which benefits local communities and promotes public support for the long-term maintenance of protected areas.<\/p><p>This concept underpinned the launch of the <strong>Great Atlantic Forest Reserve<\/strong> (the first Brazilian case to apply the methodology). A supra-institutional, voluntary initiative that brings together various public, private, community, non-governmental, and academic partners to promote regional development actions focused on nature tourism in this region that houses enormous natural, cultural, and historical heritage. SPVS is proud to have been a partner in the initiative since its inception and to be part of a Network of great partners to this
